A classic, vintage couture wardrobe, designed by historically-recognized and iconic couturiers, is meant to outlast trends and seasons. In a world where fast fashion is often unsustainably produced, the garments handcrafted here in Santa Barbara offer a touch of history, where fashion is treated as a meticulous and exquisite art form. Through my dressmaking services, you have the opportunity to wear a special, custom, authentic vintage recreation, often documented in L'Officiel, Vogue Magazine, and in international museum exhibitions from famous, historically-recognized designers working from their authorized, licensed designs. You will have the opportunity to choose from the Couture Pattern Museum's catalog of dresses. If you have your own design or pattern you'd like us to work from, please inquire about the process.
Even though a modern vintage recreation won't be created by a 1950's Parisian seamstress, you are still receiving an authentic, original design, imagined and sketched (sometimes draped) from the original hand of the designer, and recreated by a skilled Santa Barbara seamstress at her Santa Barbara atelier. The custom, couture pieces are made with a high-level of craftsmanship, following the full instructions licensed by the designer, and just the way the designers intended.
The images you see below are examples of the ensembles that can be custom made for you in your choice of fabric and color. Being able to own an authentic, vintage couture gown is becoming increasingly rare, but I will work with you to recreate your vision, so that you can experience the magic of wearing timeless, vintage couture often seen on red carpets and at charity balls, opera's, formal events, private parties and fundraisers.
As your Santa Barbara and Montecito seamstress, I work collaboratively with you to make your vision, style, and fitting come alive.
Currently serving clients in the greater Santa Barbara & Montecito area. For select, vetted clients, travel to the greater Los Angeles area is also serviceable. I will consider clients outside the greater Santa Barbara/Los Angeles area, but you will be required to travel for approximately two to three toile fittings, and approximately two final fittings in Santa Barbara. You may inquire for a concierge service list.
